What are your goals for 2013-14 Winter Season? Get out there deeper! We just started to scratch the surface around where I live, and there’s limitless potential. It seems like in every direction there’s a new place to explore.
What are your hobbies outside of skiing? Hiking, climbing, biking and hunting. Try to keep the off season training fun.
What is your fondest memory of being on your snowmobile? There’s really too many to list, but probably the season we spent in Valdez, AK in 2012. There was so much terrain and it was all so accessible. Having a sled is like having your own helicopter there, and it was the first time I really realized the potential of sledding in AK.
What is your biggest accomplishment so far being a professional ski racer? Winning the US Extreme Freeskiing Championships twice and just generally being able to make a living off of skiing. Getting to do exactly what you dreamed of doing when you were little is pretty awesome.
Where is your favorite place that you have gotten to travel because of skiing? I’ve been to Russia a couple times which has been awesome culturally, but strictly skiing, it’s tough to bee Alaska.
What has been the most difficult part of becoming a professional skier? The let down on the business side of things can be difficult sometimes. You work so hard for a lot of companies and then end up getting dogged by them, which can be pretty frustrating. But then again, I’m getting to ski all the time, so I can’t complain too much.
How do you like the look of the SCS Unlimited snowmobile-graphics line? They’re rad! I just hope I’m a good enough rider to rock them!
Who are your current sponsors? Shout outs? Kastle, The North Face, Smith Optics, Lange, Hestra, Jackson Hole Mountain Resort, Mountain Athlete, and Backcountry.com
Thanks to the crew at SCS for making the sickest wraps out there!
